Post-Doctoral ProgramsA variety of postgraduate training opportunities exist for graduates of Doctor of Pharmacy programs. At the current time, the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University offers Fellowships in a number of specialty areas. In addition, the department is currently exploring the feasibility of a number of degree (MPH, MBA, Ph.D.) and non-degree (eg. residencies in community pharmacy) programs. Further details to come.

FellowshipsAs defined by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, a pharmacy fellowship is a "directed, highly individualized postgraduate program designed to prepare the participant to become an independent researcher." Individuals with postgraduate fellowship training are highly sought after for positions in academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
The Department of Pharmacy Practice offers fellowship training in a number of specialty areas including infectious diseases, pharmacokinetics/drug metabolism, neuropharmacology, diabetes research and geriatric pharmacotherapy.
Recent graduates of fellowship programs include Brian Tsuji (Infectious Diseases), Susan Davis (Infectious Diseases/ Outcomes), Kimberly Leuthner (Infectious Diseases), Feng Chang (Geriatric Pharmacotherapy) and Xi Liu (Infectious Diseases/ Neuropharmacology). Current fellows include Judy Chin, Steven Leonard and Warren Rose (Infectious Diseases) and Helen Berlie (Diabetes).
