Overview Department of Pharmacy Practice

Mission

The mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice is to:

  1. Prepare students for entry into the pharmacy profession in an environment that supports and inspires critical thinking, life-long learning, leadership and professionalism.
  2. Create and disseminate knowledge related to the rational use, delivery and access to drugs and other therapeutic modalities.
  3. Provide service and leadership to the university community, the profession of pharmacy and the public related to education and the optimal use of medications.

The department values innovation in instructional delivery and experiential learning, intellectual curiosity, leadership and personal qualities of integrity and respect for students, staff, faculty and the community.

Vision

The Department of Pharmacy Practice at Wayne State University will be nationally and globally recognized for the impact of its scholarly activities, its educational program and the contributions of its faculty and graduates to advancing the practice of pharmacy and improving health.
